The service was amazing all the waitresses are so nice and sweet and so are the hostesses. The inside of the restaurant was SO clean! They also had such a wide range of foods and sushi and the counters were sparkling clean! The food was great for a Japanese buffet yummy and so filling and they even had custom hibachi!

Got here right before dinner time and there was a line. Had to wait about five minutes to get in, and the food is very good as usual. The soda is kinda flat, I asked for diet coke but it's probably Pepsi. So, food good, soda just so so.

It is now the only Japanese buffet that I go to in the area. My favorite one in US 1 & 62nd avenue was a COVID casualty. I usually have a variety of salmon sushi options, seaweed, the tofu soup and fruits. Although, the leeches have been missing in action for several years already. Like the options for the lunch menu. You may feel rushed if you are close to the time the restaurant closes and changes to the dinner menu or if there are people waiting to seat (they usually have lines to come in).

This place is an institution. A place that has a set menu and it always delivers and never gets old. One of the striking dishes are their salads and veggie dishes. Quite outstanding seaweed salad, salad with cucumbers and calamari and a salad with tuna and fatty white fish and salmon. The sushi is legit with variety of raw and cooked fish. There are some deep fried sushi that are unique. The fried food is on point. Great tempura, crab rangoons, fried chicken and sesame balls. There is hardly any wait to get a table. The food being served always taste fresh and prices are reasonable. It's cheaper to eat for lunch and it's even cheaper for lunch during week. It's in a convenient location of east Kendall. Overall it never disappoints and we are regulars to this place.

Food was great! Nice selection. We enjoyed the Hibachi. Big portion, I received enough food for the entire table. Not the biggest selection of Sushi for us, but for the price it was good. Our waitress was amazing!! I never had to ask for water or napkins. She just kept them coming. Loved the wonton soup. We will return!

Shinju has been at this location for many years and throughout that time has been very popular. As far as buffets go, this place is pretty good and has something for everyone. While some choices are very good, there are others that are mediocre. After the server takes your order, you can proceed to the various options. If you are a fan of sushi, you will enjoy the huge selection of items on the sushi bar. (I have two family members who go there specifically for the sushi). Other options are the hot buffet with various items. On my most recent visit among the items were orange chicken, tempura shrimp, mussels, pepper steak, fried rice, broccoli, garlic green beans, spring rolls, various tempura fried vegetables as well as other items. My favorite area is the hibachi grill where you can select shrimp, beef, chicken (or any combination of the 3) and veggies (zucchini, mushrooms, onions) which are cooked on the grill while you wait. On another island they have peel and eat shrimp, various fresh fruit and kid favorites like jello, ice cream and a selection of petite size desserts. You won't confuse Shinju with a fine dining restaurant, however, for the price, selection and quality, it is a great value.

As far as all you can eat buffets go, Shinju is a very good option. it always has a good variety and the price has remained somewhat accessible. As quality goes, you could say it is better than your average Asian buffet... I mean, you still can´t compare it to ordering freshly-made "a la carte" food on a regular restaurant, but judging it by what it is, it is very good. The service is nice and the ambiance is cozy-ish. I don´t really go often, but when I do, I have a good meal :)

Yes it's a buffet. Doesn't mean it's not great. Of course they have lots of variety but still much less that the Cheesecake Factory. You can sorta get a hint how good a place is by who is eating there when you walk in, y'know what I mean. I come here and don't mess around. We go straight sushi until we can't anymore. If you wanna go a little extra and have the means to tip the dudes. Ask them to make whatever sushi roll you can dream of and they will do it. Take that Cheesecake Factory
